The Discussion

Despite the significant rhetoric surrounding artificial intelligence the reality is there are very few examples of operationalised deployments. While the headlines talk about a 357% growth in the number of companies using AI in 2019, this is from a very a low base – only 14% have actually taken true AI beyond experimentation so far. None-the-less, expectations are very high and as IT leaders we need to harness this excitement whilst balancing expectations with reality.

At the moment, success rates are low – about 15% meet their stated objectives. And returns will take longer than we might hope – IT leaders believe 40% of AI initiatives will deliver a positive impact on their business in 3-5 years. Which means there is much to be done to achieve successful deployment, navigating technical issues as well as ethics, trust, governance and also data hurdles along the way. With this in mind:

  • Why are 85% of early AI projects not delivering returns?
  • What can you do to improve the success rates of your own AI initiatives?
  • How can you help your organisation set realistic expectations of AI?

If you want to understand how to get true value from true AI, join us. We’re exploring what we can learn from the 14% who have operationalised AI – specifically, what are the top five lessons learnt from five real AI deployments?

What’s the format?

All our dinner meetings are collaborative and information, designed to give you actionable ideas you can take back to your business the next day. On this occasion the pre-dinner discussion is being led by Dr Iain Brown, Head of Data Science at SAS and Adjunct Professor of Marketing Analytics who will be sharing the top five lessons learnt from five real AI deployments. After the discussion you will enjoy a fabulous meal and an opportunity to connect with other senior executives.
